Giving thanks for living in the many nation on Earth is worthy, and as tradition would have it Americans did just that on the 2010 Thanksgiving Holiday, but all is not so remarkable in the rest of the world, and those on the Korean island of Yeonpyeong had less than a stellar week. Why you ask? Well because North Korea shelled the island with artillery that's why. So much for raising tensions at a time when more negotiations were to take place over North Korea's Nuclear Weapon's schedule - yes, I speak of the renewed occasion for 6-party talks.
Interesting narrative in the New York Times recently on this topic apparently clipped from the linked Press titled; "China Addressing Rising Korean Tensions," posted on November 27, 2010 and written by Ian Johnson and Martin Fackler - with regard to the North Korean charge on the South Korean Island of Yeonpyeong Island, and the involvement of the Us sending in an Aircraft Carrier to safe South Korea.
News North Korea
On the same day there was an additional one narrative in the Wall road Journal; "China Warns Us as Korea Tensions Rise - Beijing Bears Rising Cost for hold of Pyongyang; New Take on Exercises," by Jeremy Page. And Reuters News division posted an narrative titled; "China Urges Korean Calm, Warns Over further Naval Drills," by Ju-min Park and Miyoung Kim written and posted the day before on Friday November 26, 2010.
Indeed, the message arrival from Beijing is loud and clear; "We oppose any soldiery act by any party conducted in China's exclusive economic zone without approval." entertaining indeed, and does this mean the Us Navy should turn nearby the Uss George Washington Aircraft Carrier arrival in to keep the peace and safe South Korea - to partake in new wargames to show solidarity, and strength? That reminds me; what's that old saying; "With friends like that, who needs enemies?"
It is my contention that if Beijing and the communist Red Army do not want United States Navy assist South Korea from being bombarded by North Korean artillery and trying to hit civilian targets, then China is honestly assisting a rogue regime, and there can only be one theorize for that. Does China want to bog the Us soldiery down in discrete conflicts nearby the world, and thus embolden North Korea to act out on the world stage, while developing nuclear weapons and threatening their neighbors.
At some point the world has to tell China that it is its own international behavior which is unacceptable, and that this cannot go on. Unfortunately, now our economic futures are all tied together in global trade. And yet China is becoming a rogue nation itself, as it builds up its own soldiery to serve its political will. Rather than working with the rest of the world, China is showing its true colors; Red, as in communist red. Please consider all this.
